Sky News host James Macpherson says former New South Wales premier Gladys Berejiklian is “not the right person” to replace Kelly Bayer Rosmarin as Optus CEO.
Mr Macpherson’s comments come after Optus boss Kelly Bayer Rosmarin announced on Monday she was stepping down after overseeing two major crises in just 13 months.
Since Ms Rosmarin announced her departure from the company there have been talks about who will replace her with one of the names being the former New South Wales premier Gladys Berejiklian.
Mr Macpherson said there were three reasons as to why he thinks Ms Berejiklian is not the right person to take the job at this time.
"Number one she was part of the stuff up in communications, she is an executive at Optus and she went missing when this whole thing went down, number two ... she’s a device figure, there’s still this thing hanging over her head, and number three after the evidence from ICAC I’m not sure Gladys wants to be focusing on telephone calls right now,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
