The US has reached a deal to extend its military presence at a base in Qatar for another 10 years, CNN reported citing unnamed sources. The base in question is the Al Udeid Air Base, which is located in the desert southwest of Doha.
The development comes after US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Al Udeid last month where he thanked Qatar for their increased spending on the base.
