Amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas War, Iran ‘scared away’ Joe Biden led the United States warship in the Gulf waters. Iranian Navy’s intelligence systems including drones intercepted the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier group in the Gulf of Aden and Sea of Oman on Nov 28. As per News agency MEHR, the interception was made possible through exchange of information between Iran and Islamic Revolution Guard Corps. Iranian military leaders have long maintained that US military presence in the region, including that of the USS Eisenhower, not only fails to enhance regional security but also creates tension and insecurity. Moreover, IRGC Navy Chief said that “they compelled US aircraft to alter its course and land its helicopters following warning.” “A US aircraft carrier that had entered Persian Gulf waters was compelled to alter its course and land its helicopters following a direct warning from Iranian naval forces. The navy flew drones over the American warship and ordered them to land their helicopter and they complied with Iran’s directives,” said Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, Naval Commander, IRGC. IRGC also released video footage of a US Aircraft carrier in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf region. They emphasize that regional countries are capable of and solely responsible for ensuring security without foreign intervention.
