Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin has resigned following a Senate grilling for the major national outage in telecommunications services for many Australians.
Ms Rosmarin released a statement through Optus' parent company Singtel saying "On Friday I had the opportunity to appear before Senate to expand on the cause of the network outage and how Optus recovered and responded. I was also able to communicate Optus' commitment to restore trust and continue to serve customers."
"Having now had time for some personal reflection, I have come to the decision that my resignation is in the best interest of Optus moving forward."
She then went on to say it had been an honour and a privilege to lead the team and to serve her customers, and how she is proud of many of the team's achievements.
The resignation follows a Senate grilling which happened on Friday for the 14-hour shortage which prevented Australians from across the country from using the telecommunications service.
