A week after her son was convicted of killing former law professor Dan Markel, Donna Adelson was arrested for first-degree murder, conspiracy, and solicitation in the alleged murder-for-hire killing. Donna Adelson was boarding a flight at Miami International to Vietnam in November 2023 was she was taken into custody. Investigators believe Charlie Adelson, Donna’s son, and Donna hired three people to kill Markel — Markel was Donna’s ex-son-in-law and had been in an intense custody battle with her daughter at the time of his murder.
