Cops in pursuit with a stolen vehicle suddenly lose the suspect but believe he fled to a nearby house. As the cops search the house they find a suspicious man in a dressing gown with scratches. They suspect the man quickly showered to throw the cops off his scent. Elsewhere, cops pursue more stolen vehicles and deal with domestic disputes.
Real-life officers are followed by a camera crew, cinéma-vérité style, in a gritty up-close look at police work and the consequences of crime. It spawned a number of police-reality imitators.
