Tens of thousands of Australians and Danes will soon gather in Copenhagen to celebrate the new King and Queen of Denmark.
The succession of Prince Frederik and Australian-born Princess Mary will mark a new chapter in the two nations' histories.
It follows the abdication of Denmark’s monarch – something which hasn’t been done in nearly 900 years.
Prince Frederick will be crowned King Frederick the tenth.
Locals say the new sovereigns' popularity will put the pair in good stead.
