Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Lakshadweep has given a boost to tourism in the scenic islands, said MakeMyTrip. The online travel company mentioned that there is an increase in on-platform search for the Union Territory by a whopping 3,400 per cent. This comes after a row erupted over Maldivian politicians ridiculing PM Modi's visit to Lakshadweep. However, The Maldives government has rejected the derogatory remarks against PM Modi, stating that they did not represent the views of Male.
