According to turkiyenewspaper.com, Russian forces are spotted near the Golan Heights in a video provided by Russian Today (RT), one of Russia's media organisations.
The film, which was reportedly shot by Russian forces, is thought to be a message to Israel. The aforementioned film depicts the Golan Heights, the Russian flag, Russian soldiers, and the military front. However, the video also reminded viewers that Russia may enter the game at any time.
Russia's military presence in Syria is remains active and close to the Israeli border. Israel just struck Syria's Damascus Airport, which Russia denounced.
Meanwhile, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on Tuesday calling on Israel to withdraw from the occupied Golan Heights, according to Russian news agency TASS.
The document was approved by 91 countries, including Russia, Brazil, India, China, and Saudi Arabia. Eight countries voted against, including the United States and the United Kingdom, while 62 countries abstained.
Algeria, Venezuela, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, North Korea, Cuba, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, and Tunisia co-authored the resolution.
There are eight provisions in the document. The first claims that Israel has yet to implement UN Security Council Resolution 497, which declares Israel's annexation null and void.
Aside from that, the letter "demands once more that Israel withdraw from all occupied Syrian Golan to the 4 June 1967 line, in accordance with relevant Security Council resolutions."
It also concludes that "the prolonged occupation of the Syrian Golan and its de facto annexation pose a stumbling block in the path to attaining a just, comprehensive, and long-term peace in the area."
Furthermore, the UN General Assembly "requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its seventy-ninth session on the implementation of the present resolution" and "calls on Israel to resume talks on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks and to respect the commitments and undertakings reached during the previous talks."
During the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel conquered the Golan Heights, which had belonged to Syria since 1944. The Israeli parliament unilaterally declared sovereignty over the Golan Heights in 1981. On December 17, 1981, the United Nations Security Council declared the annexation null and illegal in Resolution 497.
According to US officials, the Wagner Group, a Russian paramilitary organisation, aims to give an air-defense system to Hezbollah, the Lebanese group. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Russian SA-22 system combines anti-aircraft missiles and artillery to oppose aircraft.
Although Washington has not verified the sale of the system to Hezbollah, the conversations between Wagner and Hezbollah are being closely monitored, with US officials voicing grave worry over the probable arms trade.
