On August 18, 2008, in Afghanistan, paratroopers from the 8th RPIMA were ambushed by Taliban fighters in the Uzbin valley.
The record is terrible. Uzbin's ambush traumatizes the military hierarchy, the political class and French society which refuses to pay the price of blood. The families of the victims filed a complaint against the army and, for the first time, the civil justice obtained a right of inspection over the conduct of the war. Today, what has become of the survivors of Uzbin?
