Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal said Israel "wants to export the crisis to abroad" and expand the circle of aggression. Meshaal’s comments came two days after the deputy chief of Hamas, Saleh al-Arouri, was killed in a strike in Beirut.
Meanwhile, thousands gathered for the funeral of Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut, who was killed earlier this week in an apparent Israeli airstrike. Arouri, along with two of his comrades, were laid to rest at a cemetery of fallen Palestinian fighters and assassinated commanders in Beirut. The funeral was attended by Palestinian officials as well as representatives of some Lebanese political groups.
