The Israeli army on Thursday (December 21) released footage showing air strikes hitting what it said were Hamas targets in Gaza. The IDF said it also located weapons in a school complex.
Reuters was not able to independently verify the location or the date when the video was filmed.
In a written statement, the IDF said: “During IDF activity in Jabalya, the soldiers enabled the orderly evacuation of the civilian population from a school complex southwards. IDF ground troops conducted searches in the school and located numerous weapons.”
The statement also said the IDF fighter jet struck the compound in Khan Yunis and killed Hamas terrorists there.
Now more than 10 weeks old, Israel launched its campaign in the Gaza Strip with the aim of annihilating Hamas after its fighters raided Israel on Oct. 7. They took some 240 hostages and killed 1,200 people, according to Israel.
Since then, Israel has waged a massive ground and air assault on the seaside enclave. Nearly 20,000 deaths have been confirmed by the Hamas run Gazan health ministry, with several thousand more bodies believed to be trapped under rubble.
