Today’s actions could be a violent show of power by the Sinaloa cartel faction led by El Chapo’s son.
Cartel war is not new in Mexico. The nation wakes up to a new story of cartel violence every day. Many have lost their lives because of these wars. Some of these victims were directly involved in the clashes, while some were caught in the crossfire and had no ties with any of the cartels.
Many times the war stemmed from one cartel attacking family members of the other cartel. Revenge ki*lings have taken the lives of thousands of people, and sometimes these incidents drag on for months.
