This is part 2 (out of who knows how many...) of our adventure through this nearly 200 year-old astronomy atlas, "Geography of the Heavens" by Elijah Burritt, an early 19th century black smith-turned-educator.
*My even older copy of Burritt's book came in a couple days ago and I couldn't have been more pleased. It's binding almost fell apart, so I was extra careful with handling it. We look in detail at the preface and introductory essay titled "Advantages of the Study of Astronomy."
